How to enable and select virtual consoles

In text mode, press the left-Alt-F1 to Alt-F12 to select the consoles tty1 through tty12. Right-Alt-F1 gives tty13 through tty24.

To switch out of X you must press Ctrl-Alt-F1, Ctrl-Alt-F2 etc. Alt-F5 or whatever will switch you back.

Pls email me how do i restart only one workspace when im at console... For example when write: ping www.google.com, I cant stop it... :( thanks
