My mother was writing to this guy and apparently he was born in australia, lived in florida for 2 years but now is in Accra, Ghana workin in a childrens orphanage. She met him on relationships.com. I'm freaked cos he has our address and has even sent Roses to the house.
He was supposed to be flying to New Zealand lastnight but she got a call in the early hours of the morning saying it was 'customs' in ghana and they had arrested cole for taking over the legal limit of gold which would require a $35,000 bail. The number is +0023 324351 2947. Then a while later we get another call from the same number saying it is his paster Jonathon

The guy called tons of times I even talked to him on the phone couldnt understand him I could only make out he wanted the 35 grand and told me to go online, on msn. Funnily enough he logged into Johnson Cole's MSN (apparentloy he was held in customs). He told us we must send the money to 'the agent', cos we mentioned about getting the australian consulate to send it and he said no. This is the name and address he gave us for western union :

My mum has given him around $700 through western union. The guy has not stopped calling us saying Johnson Cole has been arrested and needs 35 grand. What a FREAK seriously... I wish my mum had shown me some of these emails earlie, because I can spot a phoney a mile away. I had NO idea she was sending money to some random off the internet through western union.
I got his IP address also from hotmail emails. When I did a search on that IP addess it came up as malicious.

I too was hit by the 'Johnson Cole' scammer. I'm sorry you're mom lost money to him. I was onto him very shortly after he first contacted me. I thought it very very strange that he was 'born and raised in Australia' yet had an accent that sounded nothing like Australia and was extremely difficult to understand. He began to ask me if I liked roses and wanted to send me some. I told him to take the money and buy something for the orphanage. He became very insistent on sending flowers and was very frustrated that I kept telling him no. Then he said 'just get me your home address'. I replied that I do not give out any personal information to anyone on the internet and he immediately went offline. He certainly had a line that many women would buy and it's unfortunate that people forget their own safety with absolute strangers. Thanks to the people that took the time to post this scam.

He was lonelycole49 on the BBwpersonalplus website. Only this time he had 2 daughters and was in Nigeria looking to purchase crude oil. apparently the daughter that he brought had a fever and within 2 mins a hotel dr. was at his door and had examined her and announce that she had to go to the emergency room. But he still had time to type to me that he loved me etc. I could call him at the hospital if I wanted...who carrys a phone # to a nigerian hospital. He said he lived in NYC with a daughter Vicky and had a daughter Anna. He still keeps calling and at 1.45 a min. I'm not answering!!

Scammers with rot. Some of these people who have been scammed were people who came to this country for a better life. My mother was one who was scammed this COLE jerk.
She came here and worked every day of her life, sick or not, 5.. sometimes 6 days a week she has cancer and she still works EVERY DAY, instead of being lazy and taking the easy way out. It's HONEST hard earned money. Dwelling on the past because 'your gold was stolen' ISNT GOING TO GET YOU ANYWAYS IN LIFE. Because of this I am angry. My mother didnt have to go through all that she has, because of this jerk my mom has to suffer, we have bills.. My mom IS NOT WHITE and even if she were NOONE should suffer like we have. Karama will get these people.. you lie about an accident or being hurt and using god's name to scam money, Bad things will happen to you.. not today or tomorrow but SOON.
