I was recently friend requested by this scammeer, I decided to google image his pictures and this site came up. On his Facebook profile, he calls himself Mark Lopez, says he is Afganastan on a peace keeping mission. He Facebook messaged me a picture of his son. Says he is 7 but the boy in the picture looks 5. His about section claims he lives in Atlanta Georgia and is Widowed.

Anon friend U.S.A.,

He is a victim of identity theft.

Um, put yourself in that situation for a moment, ok?
Crooks have downloaded many of your personal pics from places online.
They make more and more copies and put them with love notes and sob stories.
They say, 'This is me!' 'I love you!' 'Send me money please.'

When this process begins, there is no way of retrieving the materials sent online.
In his case, it has continued for a decade and unlearned web-surfers still fall for it.
Not knowing who they're actually chatting with and wanting to believe it all.

The best advice is, if it seems too good to be true it most likely is.
If you ever see someones photo here it has probably been stolen in the same way.
The criminals don't use their own photos, they'd be easy to apprehend if they did.

Those connected to Africa are mostly, native black students and secondaries.
Not people you'd fall for online. So they use bait-pics and remain anonymous.
If everyone would just DELETE questionable contacts this would stop very quickly!

But in a couple comments a friend said he was proud to let this happen for people to get the message that's crazy... I personally believe he has something to do with this... I'm sorry but why would u be proud of this. And secondly u can put lockdown on ur photos where no one can get them unless u OK it.... Something isn't right with this whole deal with this man....

Hello, there is another name to add to the list. AARON FRED (Lopez) on Facebook. Same pics as the ones posted. He claims to be stationed in Syria and that he is an engineer. Not asked me for any money yet, but wants me to pose as his fiancee and write to his superior to request leave for him. Promised to send me a template to send. Honestly I am quite surprised he has not cottoned on to me knowing yet. Will see what else he will tell me and let u all know.
Let me just say that I am happy and relieved to read that the real Cpt Lopez is alive and well, after reading reports that these scammers often use profiles of fallen soldiers. I wish him and his family all the best!
One last thing, the profiles of Mark Lopez, Lopez Parker and Lopez Bob, operating under the same face, are active on fb again. I really wonder if there is not some way of blocking the images from facebook by photo recognition or something. This needs to be stopped.

Well he is back but now calling his self Jones Revel Waylon which said his identity was stolen by James Lopez. He is in the Army in Syria and has been there for 21 months. He is 55 years old with his birthday May 10th. His parents are deceased and his wife died of cancer 12 years ago, he has no children. When I brought up about him being a possible scammer he got up set and told me he didn't want nothing from me, but friends and a relationship. He told me he loved me before a week of chatting. As of today he wanted me to send him a package for his birthday. When I told him I don't send anybody nothing he got up set and told me I was greedy and selfish then said bye. He sent me some of these same pictures. I hope someone stops these people. We go on dating sights to find a friend, companion and a real relationship not these people trying to take advantage of us.
Thanks for listening and ladies be careful don't send money or anything to people you don't know and to those you meet on line.

Just got a Facebook request from the scammer using the Lopez military pics. Going by Samuel Lopez now. Funny since the Ghana woman reported to be involved with this has the last name of Samuel. Also Facebook profile very suspect- a couple generic pictures of American flag and eagle, and a pic of the handsome guy in military uniform saying Looez that most of the above comments referenced. I couldn't hit delete fast enough.

By adam4adam (a network for gay men) I got in contact with a men called Jeff Lopez Fraim (user Lovingsoul122, gmail hangouts user solpaix1221), an american soldier and mechanical engineer working in Damascus Syria (for 10 months now) in a secret hideout and as leader of 216 men. Since our first conversation he seemed lovely, sensitive and kind of naïve (now that I think about it, a little bit off for an army men). Once we talked by Hangouts, he sent me poems of how sweet is waking up thinking of me and how life will be meaningless without me. At that point I got suspicious and found this site. Thank you all for posting this information. By the way, this is Jeff.
