She may be Svetlana Aksenova, but she is also Evgenia Alimova, Yulia Mashkina and Elena Mironova!!! AVOID! I am not talking about the girl with the dog either. Its the one above that you should be concerned about. Believe me on this!!!

This girl will initiate communication through dating sites such as match.com. Her profile will say she is from a place close to your address, this will entice you to reply to her mail.

Later she will tell you she is from Novosibirsk, Russia. She will email you daily, complain if you do not reply and will phone you. This is to build up trust. She will ask if you would come to Russia or is it better for her to travel to Ireland.
She will have some money to pay for tickets but needs some help also, typically €400

After much more communication she will say she has problem with Visa. In order to get visa she needs money, €100/ day visit. Which she promises to return once she arrives. She will also ask for your address.

She will say her passport is with visa office and for you to send money to her friends names; examples: Elena Mironova and Elena Petukhova

Once you stop sending money she will stop communicating with you.

It is not the girl with the dog

BE WARNED.

'Torques me off that some people think they have to look far, far away to find a girl (about whom they know absolutely nothing).

Anyone can put on a good front long enough to scam someone if they want to. Why do you think these women are on these international websites/dating services? For a very, very few it may be the opportunity to find 'true love', for some it may be the opportunity to live in a 'better' country (though, you can bet most of them will leave as soon as they get that permanament residence, green card or citizenship), but for many it's a way to make easy money from lonely, insecure, desperate suckers who fall for their tricks.

Anyone desperate enough to go halfway around the world to find a girl who they hope will be 'different than the girls here at home' (obedient/submissive, someone who'll stick with them because she'll be 'eternally grateful' for having been 'saved her from her terrible life in Russia [or whatever country]') is terribly naive. People are people regardless from whence they come -- just as there are some good ones right next door and around the world, there are some bad ones, too.

(Note: men who have 'bad luck' with the girls in their own countries will have 'bad luck' with girls from other countries. 'You' are the only common denominator, so it's not 'them', it's 'you' - either 'fix' yourself or stop picking the wrong kind of girl!)

Ever heard of the term, 'Buyer beware'? It's too bad there are 'bad' people in the world, but that's just the way it is. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
