2 Andre Scott // May 21, 2009 at 6:24 pm

I have been investigating these suspected woman claiming they are from Accra, Ghana. I set up an account with Afro Romance dating site to see if I could catch a scammer, well I did I caught two of them. The first one was name Belinda747 and the second ones name was Sweetie_Abena, she called herself Harriet. I don’t know if any of their names were right. Belinda747 claimed that she was in love with me and wanted to marry me, so she needed money for a passport and visa to leave Accra, Ghana, so she could be with me…Ha. Harriet Sweetie_ Abena, what ever she called herself, claimed also to be in love and wanted to leave Accra, Ghana to be with me, marry me, and have children…Ha.

I am a scholar-practitioner in Clinical Psychology, and what I was trying to access was their responses to my questions in order for me to determine their valdity of their response.

For everyone out there write this information down, so you want get sucker out of your hard earned money.

1. They try to gain your trust…. (red flag)
2. They said “I LOVE YOU….(red flag)
3. If you tell them the last girl from Ghana did the same thing you are doing. They will tell you that there are alot of girls here doing that (red flag), do not believe them, they are doing the same thing. They are just trying to be more slicker than the last one, don’t be fooled.

4. If their grammer is poorer then a third grader (red flag). An adult who can use the internet in a cafe’to sucker unsuspected and indicident people out of their money, should be able to spell, use verbs, and nouns agreement. If they can’t grasp this they are not worth a quarter and need to go back school, so that they can earn a living to leave Ghana own their on account.

Final thought: Just use common sense, if someone who you never laid eyes on, tell you they love you and send money for whatever.

Never, never, never, ever send money to someone you don’t know.

Alot of times our emotions over run our “eyes mind” and we become naive, when this happens:

Stop and Think!

No one is talking about the international men who are on business in Ghana and have endless troubles. Business delays, pay for hotel, series of illness, need to set up a local account with equity to process LARGE amount of money- construction, gold, trucks imports, lawyer fees, bribe fees, the final ticket home to you for the love that has been going on for months. Not much directly asking for money but so many incidencts just at the moment that you will be paid back. The love story is better than you could ever imagine and the relationship builds full of emotion and promises of forever if he could just finish up in Ghana and get to you. Fake looking documents, short on stories, no evidence, odd phone numbers, down internet, excuses pilled with incredible dedication of love forever. Watch out for a non-American, claiming to be be from northern Europe with US citizen ship and his Ghana business partner. Names- Frank Wriedt and Phil Adu He wiped me out of most of my savings and destroyed my life. Most likely on the professional level but very very clever in his game.

How to tell if they are scammers? Do your research and if it doesn’t add up then it it fake. These people make a living out of taking more than you earn. Do you have any proof? What happens when you do a google search, check out the company name, do a reverse phone number check. Comes up nothing, right? Do the same on yourself and you will find a lot of information, The problem is the scam of the foreign business guy stuck in Ghana gets into all fast terrible stories (only when banks are open in Ghana will you be bothered) and keeps going for the trap until there is an end game. If you don’t pay, then he dies or can’t get to the bank, or had an accident, investigation on his funds, gold he can’t get out, sick business partner. My ‘true love’ of my life declared love early on and then on on on, didn’t check out on any source, didn’t provide proof, and kept wrapping me in the most amazing love I thought could be but always with a next step to be free and clear of Ghana. Too true to be real. Yes that is it. Short on stories that make sense, Yes. Needing all sorts of odd number of funds to get through the weekly y emergency?
If you think it is fake for one second, then it is.
You are not to be a victim of all your money just for a few moments of love on line. He is not different from the ones you see posted here. He is the scammer and doesn’t like it when you think he is.”Trust me, baby, I will pay you back as soon as I get my funds”. He will play it out on and on. Western Union will refuse your payments anymore, Moneygram will warn you. They are right. This guy is a professional lover and could melt your heart in a minute. Too bad you will never see your life savings come back. Don’t do it. I am sorry I got caught in the trap.

Another conman ladies must watch out for is Jerry Myers or Jeremy Gray as he introduced himself to me. He used a photograph (probably stolen) of a very attractice blond man, obviously a successful and rich businessman. He also allegedly have a 14 year old son, George (a beautiful child!) and his wife Carol died 5 years ago. Importing/exporting cars between London and Accra. His accomplice is Joseph Sarfo (he calls him his agent). The email address Jeremy used: and the Skype adress: jeremy.gray6.
Ladies, if you are Queen of my Heart and Angel of my Soul within a week – DON’T believe it! Believe the saying : If it is too good to be true then it IS too good to be true!

12 John (as in victim) // Jun 18, 2009 at 2:31 am

Unfortunately many people are just too naive, sending money to strangers that easily. I’m currently talking to a “Mercy love” (caught her when he/she logged into MSN Messenger using another name…). Talking to her for a few days now and I actually believed her at the beginning since the website is very reliable and honest plus other people have been real as far as I know. She has yet to ask for money but she said she can’t afford a webcam. Of course her father died in a car crash in the US…(lol). Another thing – her answers are usually filled with grammatical errors and she sometimes enters a bunch of text unrealistically quickly (pasting from somewhere else, probably a pre-written “storyline”).
I will ask her a series of trick questions next time I see her and see how it goes. I’ve been a target before but it stopped after I said I would send a nonrefundable plane ticket but not money – e-mails stopped right there.

18 Adam Geteianc // Jul 4, 2009 at 5:47 pm

I have just been scamed and they are currently trying to get more out of me. The one that scammed me goes by Monica Percy on the internet but her real name is Monica Balogun her address is 24th avenue adk st. accra Ghana 00233 her phone is 011233246184869. She got me for $10,400 and they are trying for more. I have pictures of her if you want to email me and I know they are accurate because I saw her on a web cam I also found her on a date scam site. I have talked with several of her cohorts and right now I have a guy by the name of Asu Madu 011233279721295 claiming to be the Chief inspector of Immigration he says she is locked up because she was travelng to me, I did buy an airling ticket for her directly thru delta. This Abu guy claims she is being detained because she was trying to smuggle gold and jewels in the amount of $850,000 and he wants me to get a diplomatic courrier to get these jewels and gold for me so if you want to pose as my diplomatic courier you might have something. If you want to talk to me give me an email or we can talk on the phone I can give you all the details I have and there are 2 other guys that I talked to also. I have also filed a police report over here as well as on the accra police web site. I tried to call the accra police but could not find a good phone number. I would be glad to help you catch her and her cohorts if possible. Here is my cell 586-322-4688 they called me today also but I told them it is a national holiday over here and there is nothing open.

I’m an investigator with the Crimininal investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service. I’m also familiar with the increasing cyber crime rate in the country and have been have being investigating case of such nature and have enough experience in this area.
24 Paul // Jul 28, 2009 at 1:58 pm

So where can we report these dating scammers? I too was a victim of one of them. There doesn’t seem to be any governmental / local police email address to report them! At least I haven’t found one.
Of course the more foreigners become victim of these scammers the less likely they are to come visit your beautiful country. Such a shame !
25 BOITUMELO VANGELDER // Jul 29, 2009 at 8:29 am

I am an African from Botswana. I have been doing a lot of research regarding these dating scams. They prey on the vulnerability of people when it comes to love, who seem to think with their genetalia than their grey matter.
26 BOITUMELO VANGELDER // Jul 29, 2009 at 8:32 am

victims get their just desserts for trusting someone they have not met. A woman who looks like Beyonce can’t be single and so desperate to put her pics on the internet.
27 George Miranda // Aug 1, 2009 at 3:07 am

My person opinion, go girls go! You guys are suckers and deserve everything you get. A fool and his money are soon parted. Why should these girsl get arrested? They didn’t put guns into your stupid heads. Admit it, you thought you were gonna hit it, and probably quit it. Right or wrong? Now you wanna cry like a bunch of little bitches, foul! Stand up, be a man and move on. Simply put,..fools rush in, where wise men never.
28 roger // Aug 1, 2009 at 6:35 am

First and mostly the important thing is that people get hert with this games of scam.
Anyone telling you anything from Ghana is full of s_ _ _. Now that isnt to say the people are bad but there is an element in those internet cafe all are men or boys. So, i thought myself smart shit not even close. Do yourself a favor go out with friends away from this dating internet. It corupts your mind and emptys your wallet.
29 LETS GET THEM NOW !!!! // Aug 6, 2009 at 5:44 pm

Hello everyone who left a comment here.

Its terreble how these people play with your feelings.
It happen with me too, from an online UK datingsite, I’ve been contacted by a girl….. the story you know… but I didn’t pay.

I can’t put all the story here, becuase everyone can read it. I’m still having contact like im the fool who is very much in love. Just to collect more and more information.

I’m fact I try to find out who they are, what they want, and how long they will go on doing this.

Lets say I know a lot about Internet Security, hacking and computer forensics. As hobby as well as professional. I have got a lot of information already by tracing, locating, tracking email, scanning, googling, and just collecting information.

I want to stay anomymous otherwise they will found out soon. So my name and yahoo address are fake!

I want to ask you all to send any information you have to me. Including telephone numbers, names, emailaddresses, IP’s, and in case it’s not in doubt with your privacy…. maybe some emails you have received from them, to track and trace where they came from, and to see if there are possible matches between IP’s and hostnames.

Please also send me the pictures they send to you. Maybe its tracable where or from witch site they came from, and also to see if there are matches.

I’m collecting this evidence to see what I can do for anyone who has been scammed by them.
I do this also for myself, becuase I almost were scammed. Also it’s a hobby….
Imagine this way I can get enough evidence and give it all out of the box to the police… that’s what I want most!

Last but not least….
I respect your privacy… you dont need to tell who you are and where your from. My profile is fake, to protect my project here.

For people who are in doubt if they are scammed, or want to know where an email came from.. you can ask me too. I’ll try to help.
(all for free, its my hobby)

Lets kick some ass.

This is for merle #17 on this page. I believe I have spoken to the same girl. Her name is linda and her brother dennis (right). I just deleted all info thru yahoo messenger removed the software. Scanned and cleaned my computer and changed all password. I reccomend you do the same. She will need a passport for 400.00 but her kind uncle the policeman will pay 100.00 of it. Don’t go there! She even sent you a picture of her holding a card saying Ilove you (your name). Right. Easy to do. I know it’s hard. I know it’s a scam and still miss her but get out now.

Ladys, please be aware of a man name Gerard Scott His yahoo mail is He said he came from Prince Edouard Island, Canada, but he is from Ghana. He put his profile on and said he’s a widower, 51 years old. He said he’s into sales and marketing in the field of gold and diamond, import and export. He had to go to Ghana for his client but since he’s there, he seems to had a lot of problems and need money. He always travelled with his lovely daughter, Olivia, like he said. Now he’s suppose to be in an hospital in Ghana, dying after a big accident and his daughter send me an email asking money to pay the medication. But curiously, the High Commission of Canada doesn’t found any Gerard Scott in Ghana. And since about 2 hour, i saw his profile in, in the new one. The profile is the same and the picture too. But now he said he live in Georgetown in Prince Edouard Island. Please be careful he’s very smart and lovely, but just want your money.

I have been scammed by William and BillyJean on His Yahoo and MSN live ID is willibut5199. He says he owns a gold mine and mining company in Accra, Ghana. His wife and two daughters died 5 years ago in Ankara. That’s when he moved to Ghana and also Greensboro, NC. The address he gave in Greensboro is owned by William Butler, but it is not the man I’ve been emailing or talking with on the phone with. He wants me to send him over $600 of BMW car parts. I did send him a webcam, but he has delayed using it until after I send the car parts. He has put a tremendous effort into this deception. But I’m finally listening to my brain instead of my heart. Please don’t be a victim too.

PLEASE BEWARE OF THE FOLLOWING SCAMMERS: My sister has had 6 scam artists, most are on There names are as follows: Jeff Henderson, says he lives in Gainesville, FL he was on; David Thompson, said he lives in Stockbridge, GA; David Wayne, he is a scammer who says he is in the gold business, he was on; Morris Jackson; he is in the antique business, says he lives in Conyers, GA, he’s on; Jeff Johnson;, says he lives in Avondale, Ga; Henry Benson from Kissimee FL, says he inspects bridges and houses. All of these are scammers, asking for laptops, psp games, cologne, one wanted 2500 cash, iphones, etc. It is sad to say that most are on and they are so FAKE. When you meet them they want you off the dating site, then you can NEVER talk to them on the phone. It’s always yahoo messenger, and then they always say ding, or babe, and the word cos. They write with little i’s in their conversation. DON’T FALL FOR THEIR SCAMS. My sister could have been taken for a ride of her life, but she was smart. Please don’t talk to these guys. They are all supposedly businessmen going to Ghana to find their products and then ask for all the things I have said above. Save yourself the time and trouble.

I was almost scammed by someone claiming to be Emmerson Stewart Anderson on Yahoo Personals in California. The photos were for a gorgeous looking guy. Before I knew it, he was emailing me, calling me and IM’ing me. His story was that his Dad was American and his Mom Dutch and that he had lived in the Netherlands all his life. He was supposedly an artist doing an art exhibit in Nigeria (of all places) and was going to be returning to CA with his two kids this coming weekend. He sent me a dozen long stemmed red roses. He put his supposed daughter on the phone so I could talk to her. He asked me to send an iPhone and headset to him which I did. I realized I was definitely being scammed when he asked me for money to help the kids as they were in a bad car accident. I put an alert on the phone and hopefully it will be returned to me. The scam was fairly elaborate as I even got to speak to a ‘doctor’ and there were hospital sounds in the background. Most troubling was that one of the photos was of the guy with two children. Someone else was being exploited in addition to me- whoever the guy is and his identity and the kids also. I hope I can find the guy in the photos to alert him as I am sure he doesn’t realize how his pics are being used.
These people are fairly well trained and know exactly what to say if you are lonely or vulnerable. I am a graduate student and consider myself to be fairly smart, but I was almost sucked in too.
Be aware ladies of anyone using the email who has drop dead gorgeous looks. He is not real.
Be VERY wary.

52 Janice // Oct 22, 2009 at 3:33 am

My name is Janice, I met a gentleman by the name of Peter on Lavalife a couple of months ago. His email address was We progressed to chat on msn and he told me that he was a sergeant for the us army although he had an African father and North American mother. He told me how much he loved me etc. and asked me a favour and would I receive a package for him for 3.5million us dollars that he had been paid and it wasn’t safe for him to keep it in Afghanistan. He said all I had to do was receive it and keep it safe for him until he arrived to pick it up. I said no problem. Then it started, I got calls from his diplomat friend Mr Al Hazeem who needed money to pay customs $2000. Then he needed money for accommodation, food and doctor’s bills. Then he needed money to be allowed into Australia $10000.00. I checked with our immigration and they said that this was a rule, whoever entered our country needed to be able to support themselves, so I sent him the money, believing that when he arrived I would get my money back… he still calls me now because I’ve kept them hanging, he expects me to pay $1450 USD to pay a minister to make the package VIP!!! So that customs will not open the package. I’m angry and disappointed that there are people out there preying on trusting people who are genuinely looking for love like me… I’ve never been through anything like this before and I would appreciate any feedback so that I can participate in bringing justice to these people..

I met this man on Internet. He said his name was Nene Ocansey ( and his full name Nene Ahuma Tamakloe Ocansey and that he was a rich gold miner from Accra, Ghana, looking for a wife from Europe. He insisted on the fact that he belonged to a royal Ghanaian family and was often travelling to Europe for his business and to collect donations for his charity Evada Trust Foundation He called me from France, Switzerland and Holland. One day he wanted me to send him 1000 euro, because he didn’t have enough money to ship all his goods to Ghana. I have all his e-mails and the documents showing that he asked for the money and that I sent it to him.
Ladies don’t be silly, beware of this man. He will promise you heaven on earth, but instead will turn your life into a nightmare!
You might also be contacted by a woman by the name of Eve Finn who claims to be his sister. Don’t believe anything she tells you, it’s all lies. They are both scammers of the worst kind.
57 Randall // Nov 1, 2009 at 5:43 pm

This is for Frances Kirsch: I was talking to a supposed to be lady in Ghana. email (Fareda)Babe Tahiru who I met on It was a girl in the profile photo anyway. And she/he had asked me for money to help her come to the USA. The total amount that I sent was not much in the 8-9 month time. About $1000.00, maybe a little over?
She too said she wanted to come to the USA to be with me in which I told her or him that he or she did not have to be with me if he or she did not wish to be that I did not mind helping him or her to come over. But he or she kept insisting she wanted too do so. I called 2 times and both times I got some guy trying to disqise his voice to be a woman. Trying to make me think I did not know the differance? The 2nd time was right at the time the last bit of money I sent, was right at the time the money was being picked up. The IP Addresses kicked back here in the US. One time in New York and the 2nd time CA.
Maybe at 1st there was a legitamate girl and my computor was hacked in to after who ever used the girl and her photo to lure me in? By this it makes me, that the girl in the photo and plus the one lady I started to stay with 1st here in the US (who we are getting back together) a victom. And I am sure my photo will be illegally used somewhere down the line as well that I got conned to send? But durring Durring our time of emailing and all to and from, the discussion came up with maybe I went to visit her if there was a US Military base in Ghana. There is no US Military Base in Ghana.
If all this stuff is coming out of Ghana, in my beleifs all the countries who are being victoms of these crimes, needs to stand up and tell the country of Ghana that we are coming in to get these criminals or there will be consenquices to pay. I do not mind helping anyone, no matter where they may be, and it is not the money that matters that I like others in this world had sent, it is the idea of the way that person behind this has been going about to get innocent people to keep sending money. To do so in such a criminal mannor, seems to me the person or persons behind these scams are trying too build up money to attempt too conquere the world, or if not then why should he or she need to scheme and scam good people? We all need to find that person or persons behind these scams and put a end too all of us good people in this world from being victomized any furthure and help keep more victoms of falling victoms of thier pray. I am sure that who ever the girl was in the photo that was used to 1st lure me in to this, has been victomised as well.

This just happened to my sister-in-law. She met a Thomas Draper through
He said he was from California, and that he was in the US Army in Iraq. He sent alot of pictures of some poor soul that probably is in the military, and his kids. He spent 2-3 weeks building up a relationship online before asking for money. He said his ‘friend’ in Ghana has some military documents that he needs to get out of the country. But that he needs to pay off the officials to not search his bags. She has lost her life savings of 10 thousand. This was her deposit on a house, that she will never see now. She is so naive, even being in her mid 40s, and trusting. This was the first time she used a computer and the first time she used a dating site. I am sure she is scarred for life against both now. Please ladies, watch out for Thomas Draper,
I know they will change names each time they are caught, but be careful! Send the link from this article to all the friends you know. Ask them to send it to their friends. Hopefully word will get out.

I have another tale to tell about another possible scammer a beautiful young woman (at least the woman in the photo is!!) who claims to live in a suburb near me in Melbourne,Australia she contacted me through “yahoo” peronals. The person in the photo is caucasian and claims that her deceased father (apparently died when she was 19,surprise surprise yet again) was lebanese and her mother is -wait for it a Ghanaian, this person has just told me in an email that she is currently in Ghana visiting her “sick mom” who she says has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and told me not to panic as she will be returning to Australia in 3 weeks (I have no doubt there will be some major calamity that will require me to send over money!!).Just some relevant information guys, here in Australia we NEVER EVER use that spelling when talking about our mother we ALWAYS use “mum” that was one of several mistakes this person used the style of grammer again is very similar to scammers from African countries-no offence intended to the good law abiding Africans -I am just going to play along with this person up to the point “she” asks for money!! I’ll let you know what happens

Says he is from Dortmund, Germany. He did not directly ask for money but situations did come up and I did send him $1500. He is still talking to me even after I told him no more money. I’m just not sure if he is a scammer.
71 james // Dec 5, 2009 at 3:03 am

another update from that person I mentioned earlier.I have received another two emails from this “woman”.The idiots who write these emails must pick a suburb out of “google search” and hope to hell that the person they are trying to scam doesn’t know it or at least isn’t familiar with it,well this time they were wrong on both counts because the suburb “she” claims to have been living in is one right next to the one I live in,so the last email I sent I asked specific questions that only a person who was familiar with the area could answer and not something that can be found in “google search”.I haven’t heard back and don’t suppose I will either. The most common mistakes made by “African scammers” is very poor English and the type of salutations they use is a giveaway. The person who emailed me claiming to have lived here in Australia, used forms of greetings and spelling which is foreign to the way we speak and greet each other here and particularly as in the photo(supposed to be her) she is caucasian. The profile she had on yahoo has been removed by “her” and “she” has up until the most recent email been demanding that I remove my profile from yahoo (which I haven’t by the way!) claiming that I will cheat on “her”!!!.These type of scammers who target dating sites obviously do so to prey on the vulnerable and want you to focus only on them the profile “she”used/uses is “tiff”, “tiffany” and “pretty tiffany wallace”

I have been scammed! This one is really good. Actually met on a lesbian dating site. She claimed she was from Norway and was studying in Ghana. Both her parents are deceased and she was an only child. She was being cared for by her aunt. Her aunt fell ill a week after we started chatting. She was really interested in meeting. I refused to go to Ghana; she agreed to come to the states to visit me. However, her passport was expired, she needed a needle and a letter from the doctor saying she was well and she needed a plane ticket. She had no money as her Aunt was in hospital in a coma! I didn’t trust her and tried to stop contact. Suddenly I get a call from a friend saying she’s in a coma, in the hospital – Malaria. Then she needs money to pay her hospital bill. Once out of the hospital she returns to her apartment but is being kicked out because she has no money to pay the rent (aunt still in coma)…. I refuse to send any money and now contact has come to a stop. Two days ago I meet another woman on the same dating site. We agree to chat on messenger! What do i see on her messenger? OMG – its the photo of the Norwegian girl, studying in Ghana…. Now this new lady is saying that those are her photos and the other girl is a fake! However I did see the Norwegian girl on web can and those are her real photos! This is all so confusing! Their english is so bad! They are both FAKE!!!

I believe I have been contacted by a scammer from Ghana on a dating site. In my second email I told her I was a millionaire – which I’m not.
I’m playing it for laughs, and won’t be taken for a mug.
In my last email I said It would be great to chat by webcam. She ignored this request in her reply, and says she wants to come over to see me this Xmas. I replied that was not possible because I’d arranged to take my my long serving loyal staff on a holiday to Canada at Xmas.
In earlier email I said I had to sell on of my ferraris, owned a yacht and had a jewellery shop in Paris.

I have also been scammed now i am sure as i spent a long time talking to a lady Cynthia Tima who was going to come to my country but needed the Visa etc. She put me in touch with an Asoma Anthony who runs a travel agency. And i was eventually sent some police documents and medical certs.

I was then talked into buying a hotel and nite club in accra on a lease basis but when it kept asking for more money i got worried.

I sent about $4500 but I suppose it could have been worse. The worst part is that I asked for a document that I had been given to be verified by the Supreme Court in Ghana yet they did not respond either and also a complaint to the police on there web site did not bring anything either.

yes someone from Ghana try the same scheme, but because I dated african mens before in the US I was up on the scams and also hearing stories in the past, well this man was from texas, but was suppose to be a contractor working in Ghana, he started out with that love mess, so inlove cant live without me , I said just over seeing my pic on BP .com anway he contact me by phone and emails all kinds of love letters calls in the middle of the night as well, I was having fun with him, and he cute as heck, but when he said finally he was coming to marry me in the US, that he asked me to open Account in my name and that he will have money wire to the account and I can use it to pay bills and send some to him, so he can pay his workers over there , Ok let me honest no man in his right mind is going to give a complete stranger his money, I read up on theses scams and confronted him about it , he even cry on the phone, I mean he thought he had me, I am so Glad I was educated with this, But ladies and mens out there stay off theses sites, go back to meeting your love in person the old fashion way, pleaes stay away from african mens in those country , and they are on black planet .com. please be careful, I was really liking this guy

I have met this man in a dating site, we corrisponded about one month. He said (his name is Michael Wadsworth) he was an US army
officer in Iraq, widower, has a son in the USA. I am not american, but know English enough to note that the language he used was
not very clear and he made some errors I think no american officer would not do. The other thing I couldn’t understand why he lived
and worked 7 years in Iraq while his son is only 21 y.o. now and he lives alone in the USA. He told from the beginning that he is
going to be retired soon , in one month and then he was riteried and ready to come over here to meet me (a lot of words about love,
happy future life, how reliable and devoted he is, and so on). It was before Christmas. Then he wrote suddenly
that he needs to talk to me and the matter was about paying from the country, where I live, 1000$ for the shipment of some container with his things and gifts for me, for us.
I immediately felt alot of doubts about him. He has the package is in Ghana and con’t pay for it because US army man has no possibility
to transfer money from such strange country like IRAQ and I need to tranfser money via Western Union to his Ghana agent urgently, if I love him.
Well, I told that we can’t tell about love before we meet, but he continued to insist, to push me, that I need to trust him. The amusing thing was when I tols I have no
1000$ at my pocket now, he said that the Ghana agent has agreed to have only 700$ …
I made the research about Ghana scammers and found out the name of that Ghana agent – KOFI HAMMOND in the list of Ghana, Accra, scammers.
Nowever the contact email was different –, but I am sure he is a scammer. The email address is YAHOO, and the mail address for
Western Union is presonal, not some custom office (Michael said his agent is a custom officer). Well, all this
gave me head ache and I just stopped talking to him. No money was sent, but i feel really bad about this story.

I was scammed by Richard Harrison who contacted me from

Ricard Harrison later changed his name to Richard Blankson. The best way to identify a scammer is to check his IP address from his email. (see bottom for tips)

His Emails are:;
His phone numbers are: 233-279441682,
233-542572226, 233-543-233-302

Be aware this guy who had a Portugal accent. He lied about computer busted, kids died, daughter died, travel accidents. He can love you in first or second emails. He lied about living in Texas or New York city but had to go to Ghana for contract job.

Richard Harrison was removed by due to violation of the Terms of Use agreement. Beware!

By tracking IP address, you can know where Email came from in case someone try to fool you. It’s easy by following few steps below: Hope this helps.

1. “Right Click” on the Sender’s name or Subject of the email in Inbox that you want to track. You should get a drop down menu:

2. Select “view full headers” at the bottom;

3. From full message headers box, find the “last” one “Received: from” with the IP address, for example “Received from [IP address:] It should be the last “received from”, or first one from bottom.

4. Go to http://www.ip-adres..ip_tracer/ and enter IP address .

5. You will find out it’s a Ghana IP address. But the person just told you he lived in USA. That’s a lie.

Beware of a scammer poising as a US Solider named Sgt. Marcus Garvey. He will tell you that he is stationed in Afghanistan as Camp Eggers with 4 months left before retirement. I met him on He will try to lead you to yahoo messenger or windows live messenger. The email addresses that he will be using are or He will claim that he is from Tampa Florida.. The picture that he will send you is a solider in full desert uniform with a desert background. He will send you a address to send packages to the UK. This address is for a pick up spot to send what ever to Ghana. Asked him questions about his service, company and camp. Did a back ground search on email, person and IP address.. IP was for a computer and email was registered to a 14 year old kid in GHANA. I was fortunate to figure it out before I was out anything.
89 Colleen // Jan 16, 2010 at 8:13 am

I’ve just been told by the Day Officer at the Ghana American Embassy that an ATTEMPT to scam me has been made and it is not uncommon as he sent me to this website to see why. He was very helpful and sympathetic but I was also lucky because I have NOT nor WOULD I have sent this man, Desmond Smith, ANY money because guess what? I don’t have any to send!! LOL If this guy really is a scammer, and he is fitting the profile of what a lot has been described above, meeting on, professing quick love, sending roses, chocolates (but we have not yet met and live in the same city – supposedly) and then leaving Manhattan for Ghana to go on a business trip related to gold mining.

He has called me today, all day, telling me he is being bribed by the immigrations officer in order to claim his luggage. He said he only has US$200 cash on him and he packed all of his travelers checks IN HIS LUGGAGE which the Officer will not allow him to open in order to pay this bribe. He did ask me to go to Western Union and send some money to help pay the bribe, but I did not do it because I did not have the money. Instead, I called Embassies, told him to call the police to the Airport to see if they could help, etc., etc. Again, I do not have the money to give, and not having met him, I NEVER would give someone I have not met any money who is overseas!!! I don’t loan money to people I know here at home – it almost always never goes well, as I have learned, from small amounts, to loser friends.

So upon speaking to Mr. Austin of the American Embassy tonight in Ghana, I now know it is likely I am the victim of an internet romance scam and my head hurts so bad from a headache I can barely describe it. I am more fortunate than some of the others posting here in that I have not sent money and would not. But I feel scammed in that my feelings were used and I was duped by a man on a website. And I SWORE I would NEVER go on a dating website, I decided to try it in December 2009 and this is what happens to me!! I am now resigned to being permanently single as I was right about online dating sites – there is no one to trust that you cannot see or talk to. It’s just way too risky. And I was a “lucky one” so I just have to live through the next 24 hours when he calls me again tomorrow as he tries to “work out” his problems at the airport that he claims he cannot solve, i.e. he is being “bribed” in order to claim his luggage and is now spending the night, “supposedly” in the office of an airport janitor, sleeping until something can be done tomorrow to remedy this situation. Well, the gentleman at the Embassy gave me the phone number for him to call if the emergency is for real; so if it is, Desmond Smith will call that number for help. If it is not, I will never hear from him again because I will then tell him what the Embassy Officer told me about the Online Romance scams and see what he has to say about that to me! I imagine at that point our phone service will be “interrupted” for sure! And I will then, never hear from him again……….unless this is really happening, but the Embassy guy is SURE it’s a scam. Big Bummer.

Sorry to all of you out there who have lost money and hope none of you are contacted by Desmond Smith. His email, FYI, is so in case anyone hears from this guy, NOW YOU KNOW.
If he proves NOT to be a scammer, I will come back here and vindicate him. But it’s not looking good right now, for sure.

Online daters, beware of sweet talkers and men sending roses, falling fast for you. It seems like a movie, and then you know what, life isn’t like a movie cause movies aren’t real. Crap happens in life. Movies are for pretend. Scams aren’t funny, they stink. We’ve been had and it’s wrong. will receive a report from me.

Be careful & Good Luck to all,

Very pretty girls. Perhaps via Mate1, a chat room.
Know the ropes and the wiles of being very pretty.
Have the stuff, the words and the answers, and man can they cut and paste this. Spelling and syntax enriches, the comments gain the confidence, then the emotives, “You don’t really like me” pouting and gesturing. Peace is won then the pics start. The persistence……….”Do you have a Web Cam, I wish I had a cell, I am bleeding and need medicine, need food to feed my Grandmother…………… suspect there is some organisation behind the scam. All about gaining confidence and getting money, in various amounts
I love chatting, and meeting new people, but after a day.well u can almost hear it coming.
On the other hand one can meet a dear and honest person. I still have long lasting friend where contact was made in chat rooms. Maybe it is universal, but the beautiful Nation of Ghana seems to have both a good number of very beautiful scammers, but thankfully, also people who delight in the modern world, and its way of fast searchable communication

I am sorry to say that William Butler has contacted me and is trying to get me to send him a phone….similar to the BMW autoparts…I am sure. I have a phone number and address for him in Ghana if anyone is interested. Me, now that I know he is a scam artist, am so hurt, I feel that nothing besides full vindication – that is, I think I will mail him a package that has tissues in it or something….will suffice. I honestly don’t know what I will do….such a bummer…I knew he was too good to be true….

oh well…maybe next time.

photo of 'lincoln Shubby' in Scheffield UK, Still receiving calls from his 'Dr Alex Matthews?' while undergoing treatment in Thornbury Private Hospital, Scheffield. I've called all the hospitals, NO Lincoln Shubby was ever treated, and nobody recognizes a Dr Alex Matthews?

They have heavy accents, but I'm positive they are African

The more I tell them to go away, the more this 'Doctor' calls.

No matter what I say he calls back.

I've now reported this situation to 'Internet Complaint Police' who then contacts our local authorities.

Elle and any one else who has had any dealings with Sgt.THOMAS DRAPER,US army, based in Iraq please contact me.I have recently met him via he says that he is from New York, has 2 kids and is about to retire in one month from the army. This is a photo he has sent me of him. I have just read a disturbing note from Elle about Thomas.I need more info. about him.

Thomas Draper is a fake.Someone is using his photos and posing as him,so be very wary.He also sent me photos of his family..yeah right!! He even rang me twice. The real Thomas is probably unaware of the scam or could possibly have died in Iraq...who knows.
Stay away from this person pretending to be Thomas Draper. He is really a smooth talker. He will tell you we are all liars...don't believe him.Several women have had bad dealings with him.I was lucky...I discovered 2 weeks into contact he was a scammer and he certainly fits the profile of one.

Thomas Draper is back on He is a fake. His new profile name is Jeff285,states he is 48,lives in Queensland Australia. He was raised on a farm,in a village with his grandmother, taking care of animals. We don't have villages here!!

I chatted to him daily, just recently for 2 weeks and he told me he lived all his life in New York, was 50 yrs.old.How things change in 2 weeks!!

He said he was in the army, currently stationed in Iraq, just about to retire.Someone has taken this poor man's photo's and used them to pretend he is Thomas Draper.

He scammed a woman of $10,000.

Beware and stay clear of him.He is a scammer.Thank god I found out early.
