Migrating a Homesite installation to a new PC
Question: I had Homesite 4.5 installed on my old PC and need to migrate it quickly to my new computer. I don't have the original setup file anymore. What can I do?Answer: For this old version, just copy the folder c:\program files\Allaire (or whereever your installation is located to your new machine, in the same directory. The go to the old machine, open the registry editor (regedit.exe) and export these two branches to text (*.reg) files:
Copy these two *.reg files to your new machine and merge them into that machine's registry. Homesite 4.5 will start up with no problems.
